The Alabama Chapter of the Changing Spaces Campaign is led by June Wilson. June is driven to advocate for accessible restrooms with universal changing tables because of her own experiences caring for her child in inadequate restroom facilities while away from home.

The Alabama chapter plans to spread awareness about the need for universal changing tables to be installed in public restroom facilities so that people with disabilities and medical conditions can be fully accommodated in public places in our state.

UPDATE!
Changing Spaces Alabama advocates have partnered with Senator Orr in the Alabama state senate, and Representative Cynthia Almond in the Alabama state House of Representatives, to introduce Senate Bill 83, which requires adult-size changing tables to be placed into publicly-funded buildings in Alabama, and to create a grant program to fund the changing table installations. In March 2025 the bill passed UNANIMOUSLY in the Alabama state senate! Follow Changing Spaces Alabama on Facebook for more updates!
